It's official. You can now preorder the Kindle edition of The Secret of Bramble Hollow on Amazon. If you order it now, it'll show up on your Kindle on release day, Monday, November 16, without you having to think about it again.
It's a little hard to describe how this feels. For months this book lived in my head and on my laptop. Now it has a page on Amazon, with a cover, a release date, and a button. Emalynn and Clover are out in the world.
The beta readers are reading
The beta reader group is full, and I'm so grateful to everyone who raised a hand. Some of you are reading on your own and some are reading with a young reader at home, which is exactly what I hoped for. The manuscript goes out Monday, October 5, and feedback comes back by October 25. After that I'll make my last round of changes before the book goes to print.
If you applied and didn't make it into this group, I'd love to have you for Book Two, The Ring Beyond the Wall.
What about paperback and hardcover?
They're coming. I'm setting up the paperback and hardcover editions with Barnes & Noble Press and IngramSpark this week. IngramSpark is how bookstores and libraries order books, so if you'd rather ask your local shop or library to carry it, that will soon be an option. I'll post the links here as soon as they're live.
If you're new here
The Secret of Bramble Hollow is a middle-grade fantasy for readers about ten and up. Ten-year-old Emalynn Byrne lives on a farm in County Wexford, Ireland. She's small for her age, big on curiosity, and never without her scruffy little dog, Clover. Then Clover leads her past the old wall she's always been told not to cross, out to a ring of ancient stones, and Emalynn finds out her dog is something much older than a dog.
It's the first of five books about friendship, family secrets, and growing up somewhere that's never quite as ordinary as it looks. It also makes a good Christmas present for the young reader in your life, and preordering takes care of that early.
Thank you, as always, for reading along. Preorders matter more than most people realize. Every one tells Amazon there are readers waiting, and that helps a new book get found.
More soon,
Kayla
