It's been a few weeks since I last checked in here (my last post was back on August 9th, if you're keeping track — I wasn't, until I sat down to write this). Life has a way of pulling you away from the blog even when the books never stop happening in the background, so here's where things actually stand.
On the review side: I currently have one book in my queue to read for a review. If you've been thinking about sending yours over, there's still room — I read every submission closely, cover to cover, and I'm not interested in rushing through someone's work just to check a box. The bigger news, though, is this: I'm starting my next series.
It's called Bramble Hollow, and book one — The Secret of Bramble Hollow — is a departure from anything I've written so far. It follows Emalyn Byrne, a ten-year-old who's small for her age, big on curiosity, and never without her dog, Clover. One day Clover leads her past a fence she's always been told not to cross, out to an old ring of stones on the farm — and reveals she can talk. It's the first of a planned five-book series about friendship, magic, and growing up somewhere that turns out to be a lot less ordinary than it looks.
I'm early in the writing itself, but I'm hoping to have book one finished this winter. That's the honest goal — not a promise carved in stone, but the one I'm working toward, one chapter at a time. I'll share more as it takes shape: bits of the story, maybe some early pages, and definitely the moment I can finally tell you it's done.
