New Books, a Library Yes, and a Little Clover to Win

It’s been a few weeks since I last wrote here, and they’ve been the busiest weeks Kayla Stone Books has had yet. The Secret of Bramble Hollow comes out Monday, November 16, and a lot has happened on the way there. Two new books, some very good news from our local library, and a few plans for the holidays that I can’t wait to share.

A Place for What I Carry

A Place for What I Carry: A Grief & Remembrance Journal is a quiet place to put what grief leaves behind. It has gentle prompts you can use or skip, and plenty of room to write about the person you miss. The pages are undated, so you can move at your own pace. There’s no timeline to keep up with and no pressure to find the right words.

It’s on Amazon now in paperback and hardcover, and you can preorder it from me directly in paperback ($12.99) or hardcover ($19.99). Direct orders have an estimated mid-to-late November shipping window, once my author copies arrive; delivery delays may affect that estimate. Prices exclude shipping and applicable Virginia tax.

The Bramble Hollow Coloring & Activity Book

For young readers who want to spend a little longer in Bramble Hollow, there’s now a companion Coloring & Activity Book. Emalynn, Clover, Fig, the old stone wall and the ring of standing stones are all waiting to be colored in, along with activities inspired by the story.

It comes out alongside the novel on November 16, and you can preorder it from me for $8 plus shipping. It makes a lovely pair with the book for a Christmas stocking.

Bramble Hollow is going to the library

This one made my week. Samuels Public Library here in Front Royal will have The Secret of Bramble Hollow on its shelves as soon as it’s released. There’s something special about knowing a child in my own town can walk into the library and borrow it.

I’m also donating copies of the book for the library’s Holiday Writing Contest, which is open to young writers in grades K–12. If you have a young storyteller at home, I hope you’ll encourage them to enter. Stories are how we find our way to each other.

See you at the Merry Market

I’ll have a table at Front Royal’s Christmas on Main Merry Market this holiday season. I’m putting together holiday gift baskets for it, each with a book inside along with Christmas goodies and a few Kayla Stone Books extras. They’re ready-made gifts for the readers on your list. I’m still waiting on the final date, time and table details from the organizers, and I’ll share them here and on Facebook as soon as I have them.

Win your own Clover

Clover has come to life, in a manner of speaking. I’ve had a 3D-printed Clover made, scruffy coat and all, and I’ll be raffling her off at the Merry Market. I’ll post the details on how to enter before the market. She’d make a wonderful companion for any Bramble Hollow fan, and she’s much better at keeping secrets than the real thing.

Three weeks to go

If you haven’t already, you can preorder the Kindle edition of The Secret of Bramble Hollow, and it will arrive on release day. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for cheering me on through all of it. None of this happens without you.

More soon,
Kayla
